An interesting 18th century road strip map showing the route from London to Aberavon — via Hounslow, Colnbrook, Maidenhead, Henley-on-Thames, Abingdon, Farringdon, Lechlade, Gloucester, Monmouth, Newport, Cardiff and Cowbridge —  which was based on the original survey by John Ogilby and published in John Hinton’s Universal Magazine of Knowledge and Pleasure (London: J. Hinton, Aug 1762).

  • This is an original copperplate engraving with later hand colour.
  • Printed area is approximately 36.6cms by 29.6cms.
  • The map is in good condition with decent margins; horizontal folds and vertical, as issued. There is some slight age toning and creasing. Click on image for a better view.
