An interesting 19th century view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge*, Bristol which was drawn and engraved  by W. H. Bartlett  and  W. Mossman, respectively, and published in William Finden’s The Ports, Harbours, Watering-Places and Coast Scenery of Great Britain (London: George Virtue , 1836-1842).

*The Bridge was designed in 1830 by Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859), “one of the most ingenious and prolific figures in engineering history”. Construction finally began in 1836 but was halted in 1843 (a year after the engraving was made) due to a lack of funds. It wasn’t until 1864, five years after Brunel’s death, that it was completed; nevertheless; it is widely regarded as one of his greatest achievements.
