A detailed and attractive 19th Century map, with a decorative border, of Mexico and Central which was drawn and engraved by Alexander Findlay and published in A New and Complete System of Universal Geography (London: Thomas Kelly, 1835-1843). At the time of the maps production, Mexico extended into what is now the south western part of the United States. Texas had become an independent republic in 1836.
