A very attractive and picturesque 19th century view of Alloway Auld Kirk and the Burns’ Monument, South Ayrshire, Scotland which was drawn and engraved by W. B. Bartlett and W. R. Smith, respectively, and published in William Beattie’s Scotland Illustrated (London: Geo Virtue, 1837). The ruin is celebrated in Robert Burns’ poem, Tam o’ Shanter, as the scene of the ‘Witches’ Dance’.
