A finely engraved and attractive early 19th century view of the now lost All Saints’ Church*, Dunwich, Suffolk which was drawn and engraved by J. P. Neale and Barrenger, respectively and published in John Britton and Edward Brayley’s The Beauties of England and Wales (London: Vernor and Hood, 1801-1815).
*Due to constant coastal erosion, the church was gradually lost to the sea. The last part of the Church to survive was the central tower which finally collapsed into the sea in 1922.
- This is an original copperplate engraving with fine later hand colour.
- Printed area is approximately 15.3cms by 11cms (including title but not imprint).
- The engraving is in very good condition with decent margins. The is an area of paper near the top left border which is thin but this will not show when mounted. Click on image for a better view.
