A very attractive early 18th century view of Grimsthorpe Castle, near Bourne, Lincolnshire which was based on the illustration by Johann Kip and published in James Beverell’s Les Delices de la Grande Bretagne (Leiden: Pieter Van Der Aa 1707). In 1715, the castle’s exterior, as seen in the engraving, was redesigned and altered by the architect, Sir John Vanbrugh.
