An interesting Victorian engraving depicting the 17th century Battle of Naseby (in Northamptonshire) which was drawn and engraved by G. Cattermole and E. Radclyffe, respectively, and published in The Family History of England: Civil, Military, Social, Commercial & Religious, from the earliest period to the present time, edited by Revd. James Taylor (London, Edinburgh & Glasgow: William Mackenzie, 1875).
The Battle of Naseby was fought on 14th June 1645 between the Royalist forces of Charles I and the Parliamentarians of Sir Thomas Fairfax and Oliver Cromwell. The battle was a major victory for the latter and was decisive in bringing about the end of the English Civil War (1642-1646).
